JC Timber Furniture specialises in handcrafted timber furniture. Using both local and imported timbers we strive to create high quality furniture that will last a lifetime.
With a focus on quality, handcrafted and custom designs, we meticulously put our expertise and attention to detail into every piece we create.
Working one on one with our clients is at the forefront of the business. Using both traditional and modern joinery methods we can take your ideas and turn them into functional pieces of furniture.

The initial enquiry begins with filling out our short design form.
This includes providing contact details, dimensions, materials, budget constraints and even rough drawings or pictures of a particular design you are thinking of.
The more information you can provide here can greatly reduce the time it takes to get an initial price.
If you are unsure with anything in this step, we are more than happy to help in any way we can.
The first step in custom designing a piece of furniture is taking the information provided by the client.
For example, information in relation to the dimensions, materials, design elements and budget constraints.
From here we begin to create rough sketches on paper.
This process helps us to quickly develop an idea to then take the next step.
We then begin 3D CAD (computer-aided design) drawings.
This further helps in getting the proportions and design of the piece looking right and to the client’s specifications.
This step also aids in the joinery that will be used in constructing the piece
We then pass these drawings on to the client and from there, alterations can be made to the drawings until we have the perfect piece.
The upmost care is taken in this step to ensure the piece will not just be beautiful but also functional and built to last a lifetime.
The cost can vary from piece to piece depending on the materials used and the design and complexity of the piece.
We require a 30% deposit before work commences.
Depending on current workloads, the timeframe for a piece to be completed can be anywhere from 5 to 10 weeks from the time of the initial deposit being paid.
This will be confirmed at the time of your initial inquiry.

OUR LATEST PROJECTS
MESSMATE BOOKCASE
This large built in bookcase and cabinets was made from highly figured Australian Messmate. Our largest build to date this unit measured in at 4.5m along the TV wall and another 6.4m of bookcase along the adjoining wall.
WORMY CHESTNUT TV UNIT
This custom designed wall hung TV unit was made from highly figure Wormy Chestnut. Curved fluted doors were created on the ends of the unit to house speakers. This unit measured in at 2.8m long, 0.6m high and 0.4m deep
AMERICAN WHITE OAK DINING TABLE
This is another custom designed piece made from American White Oak. It features a 70mm thick top to give it a substantial appearance. This table measured 2.0m long by 1.0m wide.
EBONIZED WHITE OAK COFFEE TABLE
This round coffee table measured in at 1.0m in diameter. Fluting was added to the legs to match our signature Murray dining table
EBONIZED WHITE OAK DINIGNG TABLE
Another of our signature Murray dining tables this time made from ebonized white oak. Measuring in at 2.5m X 1.2m in size
EBONIZD WHITE OAK ROUND TABLE
This round table measured in at 2.4m in diameter. It features a basket weave parquetry top and solid X style base. A white pigment was added to the finish to highlight the grain in the timber.
JARRAH DINING TABLE
This custom designed table was made from solid Jarrah and measured in at 2.8m X 1.2m in size.
TASMAINIAN BLACKWOOD BED FRAME
This king sized bed frame was custom designed with out client. This frame includes a hydraulic bed lift for storage underneath the mattress.
EBONIZED WHITE OAK BAR TABLE AND STOOLS
This custom bar table and stools were made from American white oak and then ebonized to achieve the jet black colour the client was after. A brass inlay was also incorporated in the seats and along the foot of the table.
EBONIZED WHITE OAK & TASMAINIAN BLACKWOOD DESK
A simple yet elegant desk measuring in at 1800mm X 700mm. Both desks feature a full depth file hanging drawer. Brass drawer pulls was also incorporated in the design to add a nice contrast against the timber.
MESSMATE ENTERTAINMENT UNIT
This unit was created to house a short throw projector unit that can be safely hidden and protected when not in use.
AMERICAN BLACK WALNUT DINING TABLE
Our signature Murray dining table made from solid American Black Walnut. This table measured in at 1200mm X 2400mm
SPOTTED GUM BUFFET UNIT
This custom buffet unit was made to match an existing dining table we made for the client. Measuring 2.7m long by 0.9m high by 0.6m deep. Made from solid Spotted Gum
HERRINGBONE AMERICAN OAK DINING TABLE
This custom built table features a herringbone parquetry top and curved pillar style legs. Measuring 2.4m X 1.2m in size.
SPOTTED GUM DINING TABLE
This dining table was custom designed and built from solid Spotted Gum. Measuring 2.7m X 1.5m in size this table can seat up to 12 people. Featuring traditional joinery with Breadbord ends this table was built to last.
BLACKBUTT TV UNIT
This custom designed TV Unit was made from solid Blackbutt. The unit was 2.1m long by 0.5m deep by 0.8m high.
COFFEE TABLE
This small coffee table was custom designed with the client to match another piece that we created for them. Made with Blackbutt.
BATHROOM VANITY
This wall hung bathroom vanity was custom designed for a clients new bathroom renovation. This unit was 1.8m long by 0.5m deep by 0.6m high giving ample room for storage. Made from American White Oak.
AMERICAN OAK DINING TABLE
This custom dining table was designed with the client to match existing furniture they own. Seating 6 people, this table was built to last a lifetime. Made from solid American White Oak.
OFFICE WORKSTATION
This was a 4 metre by 1.2 metre table created for a local business. The top was made for Spotted Gum and the base was steel painted Matt Black. This table was designed to be used with a team of people with custom cable holes in the centre of the table to allow for computer cables.
DESK
This desk is one of two desks custom designed and made for a local business. Made from solid Victorian Ash.
